Mackay was meant to be just stopover city, just for sleeping. But I still hoped that there is something to see or do. Nope, nothing, boring city. We slept in Geckos Rest*. I would not sleep over there again. Somehow very old and not nice hostel. Even tough quite clean and silent, just didnt like it. Next day we took bus to Airlie beach.
